You handle humor very well! ;-)...at least for me it did!

(Brett - right after you hit publish either within a publication or on your own profile page, a smaller window appears summarizing on the left what your image and title look like, and the topic tags on the right...below are always two "asks" with a "tick box" that remind/ask you as the writer to:

(1) put article behind the paywall

or

(2) send to your subscribers

Often the second by default is NOT checked - you have to check it so that it comes to our email. I know you don't post often so I specifically subscribe so that I get notified and for the last three posts, I've had to come check your page bc I don't get your emails.

I think the article placed behind the paywall may be by default checked - but this is where I've seen at least three times in my two years where writers forget to check it and they notice many reads later and lose money for all the engagement they received...it's painful to hear about.
