Wow - what a story! I was so caught up with the beauty of the visit with your parents and learning about Japan - that had to be such a shock of adrenaline!

Its fascinating how you looked back and questioned your reaction and even surprise by how the body did or not respond based on what you can reason time and space later. What a reminder to us all: it's so easy to judge a situation when we are not right in the middle of it with the fright/flight response that a lot of us cannot foretell until it happens!
