Wow - Logan -- there are so many things I would love to respond to - I could sit and chat for hours about these! But let me say how neat that you've asked this question for a project...and it is amazing that traumas or intense memories are the ones that surfaced. It's sad your dad forgot his real last name; I'm myself trying to get the name of my grandfather, and mom just never wanted to ask/know...her father wasn't in her life. It's interesting to me how later generations having no emotional attachment to an ancestor do seek out names, but to those who were hurt -- the one thing that seems insignificant, a name - they choose to now know or just forget. Hmmm

anyhow - I could easily keep responding and it would be a neverending comment! LOL
