Wow John—I’m so moved and transformed by this piece. I’ll never forget these words….I think every young couple that gets married should read this article.

It takes profound objectivity to step back after a painful divorce and then face where both failed. It takes heart, courage and wisdom…and allows you to heal fully from the inside out.

I’ve watched the opposite.

I’ve witnessed at least twice: people staying together for all the wrong reasons, and then continuously blaming the other for their misery and wasted life. It’s one of the ugliest sights I’ve ever seen.

Sure, when you first wrote: the heartache you experienced was palpable. I remember thinking, “man this Cindy woman had to be so mean to him!!”

Over time, you slowly began to heal…your tone has changed…and so much had happened….

You say you’re dying.

I say—you’re blooming.

You are more alive and well than you were months ago—
I don’t know the specifics of your body—and it’s deeply saddening your physical body is failing—all of our bodies do so and none of us escape death—

But what you’ve gifted me John—is the realization that regardless of age, circumstance: there is always room for growth…to see beauty in everything—

We humans are so complex. It’s far too easy to blame it all on others or all on ourselves.

Thanks for opening up your heart and writing. Love and appreciate you! Wish there was something I can do for you!

John, I’m going to write to two editors to get you added to some lovely publications.

Question: once you placed your request—are you checking under:
Manage publications —in your settings to see if you’re added?

I’m sure Julie will help you with all of that but hoped I could help as well.

Hope you’re feeling stronger!!!

Beautiful piece!! Much love!!
