Is Silvia suggesting that the left-hand doesn’t know what the right-hand is doing? What I did learn from Silvia is that interest pushes us toward the new, the unknown, the fringes, and the exotic, while providing a point of focus that leads us to pay attention to some things and not others; and perhaps more importantly: attending to deep structure instead of superficial features.
