It's so unusual in our cultures to not even see aunts, uncles, or cousins - just some relative to step in to help. And for this child to lose his only relative this young in life, he is going to need a lot of help.

I too as you did all our wills and designated guardians when the kids were very young; now that we've moved to Mexico - we also recently had a will drawn up, we didn't want our kids to not have access to what we've acquired now being in a foreign country.
