I am in that 10% around the world that gained more than 13 pounds in the pandemic. But it didn’t stop, it just continued to grow — as did my grandiose impression of my ability to just lose it when I wanted to.

I just assumed I would eventually get around to it — after I had a good sulking, pity-party from the stress and work it took to move from one country to another in the middle of a pandemic. I had even better excuses as I was “forced to quarantine” in a small space in a new city not knowing anyone while awaiting our home to be ready to move in.

I would eventually get around to it.

I did — eighteen months later. And I have to tell you: I cannot for the life of me lose one pound. I have blamed it all: lack of enough sleep, not enough water, not enough exercise, too many calories, too little calories, my near-50 age-low metabolism — you name it. I’ve blamed them all.

I have read all the articles and seen all the videos. If you write or read any article that has the #weightloss, #fitness or even “healthylifestyle tags — I’ve read it or will be anytime soon! I devour those stories!
