Victoria, sadly (because it would help if it were more organic) - but I think the first 1-3 years on Medium seem to require us the writers to "market" ourselves, by reading others...they then notice and come to read.

I think there are cases where writers hit a home run, and the enticing title along with excellent content brings in many organic readers without having to seek out readers.

But, I think many of us come across exquisite pieces - like this, that truly merit so many more views.

It will get better as you gain more followers, but aim for readers who enjoy your work! And as you said - it does take a "creeping" growth for most of us, I sense!
