To your point and I’m sure thousands in this country and beyond, many issues are at the forefront of our heart and needs:

Global warming
The wars that have begun and are starting
The killing in our schools, churches, concerts, movie theatres, malls, —randomly on a street—
The shrinking and disappearance of the middle class—
The lack of funding/interest/priority to a sound and thought-out educational system
The dire situation where most lack access to health care of any sort or the fact that you can easily lose your entire life savings by getting sick
Women’s loss of freedoms
The loss of voting rights…

And the list is long—

But I know that none of these can be addressed if there is no democracy—

….if we don’t get to participate, run for office and have a chance at free elections with the freedom to oppose government and share information and not have government threaten to kill you because you oppose the powers that be.

If there isn’t a republic with checks and balances where you can count on justice and we can hold our officials accountable for their actions—you have nothing.

It didn’t matter that Venezuela voted and has the evidence to demonstrate 70% did not vote for the present leader—
When a government is married to the armed forces and those with weapons …they hold now all the chips.

If anyone thinks Trump hasn’t been clear enough about what he intends to do and wants to do—or thinks it’s all a joke—I would like to drink that kool aid or live with such comfort knowing generations to come will deal with greater problems that we can even begin to foresee.

I must and will always hold on tightly to hope and a mindset of seeking solutions—

Everyone is so negative and quick to say: all politics is evil and destructive. But that isn’t even the meaning of politics—citizens are defining it for themselves and allowing whichever media forces they choose to listen to to drag their spirits to that lowest rung.

So I’m not oblivious or ignorant of the dire problems many live with—I read about it everyday. And I find the time to protect my mental health as well.

But yes—thanks for rooting for those of us who choose positivity. It’s just as infectious if not more than negativity.
I choose this side. ☺️

Much love to you Christine—
Thanks for engaging.

I know you care deeply too about justice and freedom—I know you’ve watched and seen what many of us do.

May brighter days lie ahead for us all!
