This reminds me of a close friend we have loved for years who do suffer from the messianic complex and it’s so incredibly painful to see how they’ve used her and how she keeps going right back to “save them”….over 20 years and yep—nobody has changed, except the fact she’s depleted, depressed and very alone. It’s is so sad.
