This pains me—I don’t think I’ve realized how cutthroat the admissions are in Cali…ugh.

…ounselor last week and “Just a 4.0” was reiterated, I could see my daughter’s shoulders slump down. She is proud of her 4.0 GPA and so am I. Yet, the college counselor is a realist and a 4.0 is barely cutting it for the California schools that my daughter wishes to go to.
