This is the problem with people running their theories without any facts; I saw many of our friends spreading these theories and I quietly said nothing because I choose to live in live and let live.

But here’s the deal: one experience among thousands of users is not enough data to lead to such drastic theories. And writers do not qualify their statements:

I never once changed how often I read, interacted or commented., wrote or clapped. Medium rewards engagement: facts. That started last year and they are paying more —the boost even much more than 2022-2023. It’s just people are not sharing their earnings in a way to help show the change.

People expend so much energy griping and being shocked instead of waiting for the temporary change to fizzle out and then watch and see what happens. Until you closely follow a pattern for months, it’s misleading to state there is a change because of an observation in a day, week or even month.

I’m being long winded because I’ve been quiet for the last 2-3 months. And to now see someone return and be affected to where you’ve drawn all these conclusions (erroneous in my humble opinion) is exactly why I was annoyed.

BUT—to each their own. Some have left and others stay. THAT is consistent.

Each needs to understand why they are here, what they find gratifying for them individually here on Medium. When it ends—it is understood and respected.

When writers love the art of writing, don’t find it a chore to be genuine and try to learn how to reach your audience in an authentic way, they are rewarded here long term.

Read, clap, comment as you always have—no one is going to kick you out because of that.

If that was the case: we all would be off the platform.

Be well Philip—Medium is alive and well.
