This is fascinating Hilly -- I'm so far removed from the current dating scene so it was interesting to read your perspective!

There are many different versions of a "happy succesful marriage" -- ours has been: it all goes into one pot and it belongs to both. We both respect each other's personal interests understanding that being responsible means looking out for the best interest of the family unit's financial standing. Looking out for the whole guarantees the parts are taking being taken care of...to me it's a mindset and value system.

I'm happy to see you're giving it careful thought and understanding what would work best for you -- far before you say I do! ;-)
