4. Backstory: In 1955, my dad built this house from a kit from Sears & Roebuck. A railcar full of materials dumped its contents on what would become the front yard, and eventually, a house was built. There are lots of “Sears’ Kit Houses” around. Every now and then, even in other cities, I sometimes see houses that could be from the same kit as our house.
