The two strong comments I’ve ever received are burned into my memory, the second a personal attack that missed not only my essay’s point but attacked me in such a personal way completely mischaracterizing me….
I took two days to step away—I wrote a long reply and then deleted. I was torn.

I then decided to thank them and found one thing to compliment them on—
They thanked me back and I think in a way they were astounded I said thank you.

I’ll be honest —I wasn’t thankful. I was angry and resentful….but needed to end their ugliness. I then chose to never read this writer…

I do not understand the mindset of insulting another—and yet I’m grateful it happens on a minimum.

I’m so sorry it happened to you Sandy…you do write so respectfully of others in your life and I’ve read of your marriage and I admire you have always focused on you and I’ve never felt you ever drag him down.

So thanks for opening up your heart—and congrats of the personal and writer growth you’ve achieved! 💕🫶🏽
