The tears are just pouring—oh this essay—so touched my heart.
Is it the heart wrenching reality of how war destroys our soldiers and the lives many of them who try to build after a horrific war??
Is it the persistence of a strong woman in a time where they had to overcome so much? Is it the single mom who had to give up so much to help provide the best she could? Is it the story of the giving and passing down of a legacy? Or how she found her home and —it became her—
Or the love and gratitude you have for your mom and how difficult it must have been to close that chapter?

It’s all of it…I didn’t want her story to end—and I didn’t want this house to leave your family…

But it took me back to my single grandmothers —and to my parents—and I see how much we each want to pass onto our children.
Please write more—of the stories of those characters—
