I have read this article before - but re-read it to see the parts you are referring to, and I can see the point you're making. There is sufficient ambiguity to keep us in the dark - so I suppose that's how it remains.

Sorry for taking your valuable time on this - I really wanted to understand where this "viewpoint" originated from and I recognize you've been on Medium for a very long time.
