It's incredibly important we all be reminded over and over where we are and what it used to be like, with the medicare care or lack of -- not too long ago.

I'm taking FOREVER to finish read The Body, and it's for the exact reason -- I'm reading it too slow, wanting to remember so much but I can't. And I'm flaggergasted and shocked by what used to be common practice in medicine that we would NEVER accept today. The lesson to be aware that even today we are doing archaic methods that in the future they will look back on and say, "what was wrong with them?" -- humbles me every.single.time.

Tell her thank you on my behalf for allowing you to share...I'll be thinking about this all day. An entire family was shaken -- lives changed forever -- until the discovery of antibiotics (which that was one of my favorite chapters in the book!)
