such a touching read Joy - so thoughtful and so full of love for the beauty and comfort of companionship. In this last month, my soul mate and I have each had to travel and have been apart - and oh - the reaching out and having the empty flat sheet is so very sad and yet as you said: knowing it's temporary is comforting. I too have in those moments also wondered, "what would be of me - if and when - he is no longer at my side? who will be the first?"...
