Such a great writing prompt—
Do we as parents “train” our kids to succeed…???

I’d say: we have the potential to train them how to deal with failures and could potentially share tools of how to learn to succeed…but at an early age, children begin to make choices—and as much as we like to take the credit for much good our kids do—I’m of the “camp” that feels we set foundations and sometimes it takes many years for those children to even begin to appreciate what their parents tried to teach.

Some parents and children have a unique dynamic: personality and circumstances(socioeconomic) and geography/cukture—that create a perfect combination for a pretty straight path to success.

But even so—choices were made. And I think at the end of the day: each person is 90% to congratulate/blame whether a success or failure.
