Such a fascinating read…thanks for being vulnerable and sharing what maybe scary for some. I married an African who also came from a culture where there was no very little to zero PDA.

From day 1 – I’ve made it known—I’m almost an “extreme” when it comes to physical: very touchy feely…

My dad was so much more than mom, and their upbringing wasn’t too “touchy” but hugs were at least somewhat present in their childhood and young adulthood…You make me want to ask them details now ;-)

My sons are so accustomed to all that contact—and I think you’ve hit upon the impact of our upbringing and what we are exposed to.

Frankly I have close friends (Asians) who do not care for contact much as I do—and I don’t know how romantic relationships exist that way. Many do I’m sure…I just couldn’t live happily in such.

I find it extremely important…and I wonder: do people accept it as culture and just adapt? Are are we all wired to be physical?…

I don’t know what the research says/shows…

Anyhow—I’m
blabbering sorry — Great article Sandy!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😘
