Thanks for sharing this with me—it never ceases to amaze me how just like being at the right place and right time has to do with some pretty lucky moments, we also have the complete opposite:
The wrong person saying the wrong thing at a crucial moment in one persons life—
What that teacher did was shortsighted and missed the mark on the “soul” of writing…

If it helps any—this teacher entirely chose to applaud us and only told us what to add….it wasn’t ever about what was said that was wrongly written.

To be honest I want more corrections and more instruction—but I get a feeling a lot of classes in writing might be about opening the heart and mind to sharing and getting us to show it—

So much of it is practice….I think a writing group where people share and give feedback to people who they get to know can be good….but I still feel it must be hard to give constructive feedback fearing you hurt someone’s feelings.
