As I've edited my work over past year, one thing I've learned is that I have a natural tendency to write in passive voice -- it has been one of the most consistent changes I do when I edit: change to active voice.

It has been maybe? one or two articles that pointed it out - and you do a phenomenal job in this piece. But as you said: it's straightforward and clear.

What I wrote and what you caught is a perfect example of how we can mislead when we write in passive voice and then use incorrectly changing entire meaning! LOL
