Shashi while I wholeheartedly agree that it be encouraged, demanded where possible—I don’t see it happening in any society often enough to where you pointed out: would make a difference.

However—your cry for its need is 100% valid and I concur. In fact the most effective leaders are the ones who do this. Maybe not quite to the extent you asked—but their groundedness (I made up a word) makes them effective.

I see the problem you described in not just corporate world—I see it with politicians who can and should just live a life next to their constituents in poverty, the principal who has been out of the classroom—should grade/manage/teach/counsel and do the million things they demand of their teachers…

The list is endless.

I applaud the goal—i just wish our world thought like you did. Many leaders feel they’ve now earned the spot to NOT have to do the drudgery.
