Paul, this made me cry. It is beautifully written and a piece I wish would go "viral" across the nation. I wish there were thousands of "Brave" zooms happening in every corner of the United States. I applaud you and Peter for the effort and time you invested. In fact, we need this -- all over the world.

Hugo Chavez destroyed Venezuela - but prior he made sure to drive a wedge between his supporters and opponents. That was the key tool to make sure he could have Venezuelans so busy fighting each other while he looted and destroyed what took so long to build.

Those of us who closely study history and politics easily saw that Trump followed the same scheme. He was extremely adept at it -- so much so, he left the Presidency, and it lingers deep, wide and high.

I cried reading this, because I yearn for the healing of a beautiful nation that welcomed me and made me feel valued as an immigrant. My parents' financial investment in the US by educating me there (college), time and effort as a teacher and college instructor that I gave to the country's youth, we built a life and contributed to the economy buying homes, raising our children -- and my entired life as an immigrant-- in seconds --was spat upon by the xenophobia he fed and was expressed by so many.

I read below you're a centrist -- and while I used to be left leaning, the radical right has pushed me clear left in order to balance the extreme right. And even so -- "my left" would have been a centrist perhaps 20 years ago?

I'm sorry I'm writing so much, but this article is everything. (Would you mind if I shared it on Facebook?)

Thank you for writing about this -- I hope you'll keep sharing with us what comes out of the Braver Summit. Maybe a series? -- lessons learned from each side? Maybe you could share with us how to create this? I'll be honest -- I would love to create or be a part of something like this. But I'm afraid.

I'm still very angry about the loss of our rights as a woman. I'm not in a good point to listen to the "other side."

Bravo Brave Angels --- you are what makes a nation great!!!!

Tell them all in your next meeting that they make me love America - as a citizen who has left. They give me hope -- they make me want to run back -- they make me proud to be an American, and it's been a very long time since I've uttered those words.

In solidarity -- fellow American,

~nat~
