Okay - so hold up, you wrote this in March of last year - and I thought the whole group tagging this took a new turn this year with the massive lists!?! LOL --
Here's what I think:
I think subscribing is a way to choose to "be tagged" which makes it seamless. But I do know there are a few who don't mind -- the question is how do you really know they aren't?
Based on my last "venting session" article (and toning down the whine 😉😑...I think I did?! ;-) --
People in general are bothered by it but don't want to offend the one asking.
I think you're like my husband and many guys - you have no problem letting people know what bothers you or not and you're probably easygoing to where you let things slide that you can easily hit "delete" on...but I can assure you many cannot say, "Please don't tag me" to a friend because they don't want to offend.
Thankfully people read me well and for the most part, don't -- BUTTTT....there is still one left tagging me, and I had hoped "said writer" would have read my last vent, but alas - nope. LOL - Murphy's law! 🤪
Anyhow - fascinating you wrote this way before I started...and I loved New Writer's welcome a lot last year...man, I haven't written for them in forever! ;-)
Okay, enough blabbering....keep well Mike!
