Wonderful read May!

Many many years ago I saw Joy Luck Club, one of my all time favorites, my first lesson on understanding the dynamic of mother and daughter in the Asian community. Later on, close girl friends from Taiwan would share of their complex relationships with their moms. I could appreciate what you were sharing here...and yet, I loved that you gave us the perspective of an 8th grader -- I remember looking at men and women exactly like that.
