Oh, May, I am incredibly grateful for this --- thank YOU!!!! I first read the article, pulled out my notes file, and took notes. You ordered exactly what the patient needed. ☺️This line was for me:

“Memoirs are meant to be experiential and narrative, and writers often get bogged down in the tiny details. Keep in mind that readers are interested in your own memories and feelings, not necessarily every specific event that happened on a particular day.”

I was getting bogged down by those details -- will continue to work through that. So I feel a burden lifted -- and without being too direct, I wanted to ask exactly what you gave me details about. Thank you SO much -- that helped to hear where, how, and why those details can be adjusted. (laughed about the chocolate -- I love it!!!!!!)

May, maybe from time to time here in Medium, you can throw in articles about writing strategies or tips -- or write a short story, and then below it: share how you created it with perhaps one or two writing tips that give the reader an "outside-in" look on how it was done. Just brainstorming...I'm sure you have tons of ideas about what you'd like to write! But throwing it out there in case you've thought about it...

There was a writer who recently gave samples of bad writing and then gave the alternative examples below of how to "de-clutter;" you would teach us!

I too miss teaching a lot-- and I saved and will re-read this comment. You're a master teacher, and I am on the edge of my seat listening!!!

Thanks for the encouragement and nudge...I treasure your words! Have a wonderful week -- happy reading and writing!!!!
