Oh Julie, I’m so glad I read this! So much is running though my mind…and you make me reflect upon how even I have had moments where I’ve felt I’ve understood my father more once I knew more of the backdrop of his childhood and the same goes with mom. I so want to interview and ask them so many questions…mom got a little feisty one time, but I told her: I learn so much. I think often previous generations were taught to bury the past and they themselves don’t know details of their own parents.

Your mother’s picture is stunning. Reminds me of the pictures of one of my aunts…I wish the young girls of today saw how little make up was used on and how gorgeous they look!!
