Oh dear Julie, couldn’t have been an easy one to write…but it’s powerful and sincere—I hope many single mothers read!…
So much is clearer to us in life, once we’ve lived….school, dating, parenting—relationships.
Partly you may feel at fault—but just as you’ve extended grace and mercy to your mom, so will your daughters…such is my hope for you, me and so many of us as mothers when we know our children don’t fully “get it” yet.
You’re doing the right thing and letting her make her choices — not easy.
Perhaps sharing this article or a letter sharing your heart and your life—without categorizing her partner, keeps it as just a mom’s reflection and sharing your innermost feelings and thoughts with no judgement. Let it speak for itself and at least a seed is planted—just a thought.
Might not be right thing either.
Just as you’ve done with this for us. You’re reminding each of us:
Just think carefully of our choices—and the weight of parenting is so heavy that the lure and comfort of a partner is SO easily tempting to grab.
Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us….much love!!
