Nope it’s not! Buying someone a gift: is spending money! So giving the cash vs gift is exactly the same thing to me…and to me a gift giver: so much easier!
Regardless of what anyone gives, people should know they’re all appreciated—at least I hope they would be.

Living in Mexico, I’ve been to three weddings and one quinceañera —we gave cash gifts in all. Boxes were also placed.

Biggest question for us was: what were people expecting or what is the average? With the dollar Mexican exchange, we have to learn what’s average here vs a US dollar gift in the US.

But I did not take offense at all—I think most weddings will head in this direction.
