My mother and aunts have the fondest memories of my grandmother's ice cream. Recently a cousin who is much older than me shared how she so look forward to that one scoop. Mom often shares who sweets weren't a common treat and so when they had just one or even a scoop - how much they savored it and treasured such a memory. As I read yours, I wondered, "the excess of the sweetness, the excess of snacks and delectable foods have us going after that kick and high - and soon after one it again and again..."

We've lost that healthy trait of understanding such cravings are best to be measured. And even so, I know the sweetness of where I came from and of many years ago is still far less than what we call "sweet" today. I wish collectively as a society we could get all these food industries to acknowledge the error and just stop...we wouldn't have to spend so much money on healthcare and find a million and one ways to diet and exercise. Okay - I went down the rabbit hole.

This was about memories...and by the way - it was truly lovely. And I love that you helped frame in our minds how important it is to make each new one just as special as the ones that stay close to our heart. It's a lesson I need to revisit from time to time...

Much love to you, Susan - have a wonderful day!!!
