My husband is the travel guru -- so I can't say I've experienced this, as we haven't traveled in a family that often at all...but I do know my husband plays the game and is constantly comparing even after purchasing and has at times found better deals - does this with hotels too...

I'm glad you got cheaper prices - I think the benefit of the group booking is the way they keep everyone together for reschedules ...
