Mike, I felt your pride, joy and excitement for how well she ran…so I was stunned to see her reaction. Just thinking out loud: can you have a father daughter talk mid week, before the next race to help her “zoom out?”

She’s eagle-eyed focus on winning that’s she’s missing the progress that’s inching her to being number 1.

Breana needs to be reminded how many ways she keeps winning…and to know, everyone who made it big failed over and over—we just don’t see it that struggling journey behind the scenes. You would know great sports stories or athletes that describe how alone and defeating it feels to lose but finally get their break through perseverance , perhaps she needs help looking at a wider lens of how far she’s come. Especially with that injury you described, and to still heal and come back as she’s done….it’s so impressive.

I know you want to see your baby smile, that’s all you’re looking for. I wish she could see herself as you do. I hope she reads your story someday to know: she’s so loved and cheered, it’s beautiful!

All the best to the Butlers!
