Michelle, this was a powerful read; thanks for sharing.
Can I ask -- why or how was it easy for you to quit? I'm genuinely curious and it's not that I doubt nor think anything of this, I read to learn and understand and so many stories talk about the difficulty of quitting. Was it because the drugs just weren't that addictive to you? Was it that the consequence was so powerful to you to motivate you?
I was so happy to read Brandie found healing and a better place...
How many details of these stories are you able to share with your children? Do you use them to help them share with their friends in case they see signs or are aware of what others are going through?
I've talked to my college sons a lot about alcohol and drugs - to the extent that I know...but I've had to do a lot of reading and asking...I'm happy that they share with me, but I know much of what you share is still very prevalent not just in college but in high school. But I'm sure it's easier to share with us - stranger than family...could you write about that one day? How do you know when and how to share with children? How do they react?...if it's not appropriate or comfortable -- disregard! ;-)
Much love to you...I hope your stories travel far and wide I think so many can learn from this! Thank you.
