You made such a valid point that I had not thought of when writing this—you’re right: that era and boys absolutely were not supposed to get in touch with their emotions.

In fact—I would say in many aspects that also affected my husband….

And your anecdote touched a nerve bc it took me back….those fights where you know they aren’t listening, just waiting to jump in—and likewise. Ugh—no fun!
