Lol…well, they keep asking me where I’m from, so I can’t claim to be Mexican just yet! 🤪…So since we came as my husband was recruited for a position here, he’s on a temporary work visit, and we (my sons and I) are on a temporary resident family status. Once you’re a temporary resident for 5 years, we can then apply for the permanent residency.
I do not at all think it’s difficult. After what I went through in the US, student visa, to green card, to citizenship, I feel this is way easier.
First of all fees, to apply for residency in Mexico it’s no more than $300-400.
That won’t even get one application fee for for one immigration procedure in the US…
Once you present your passport, photographs, and application, I think for retirees you show bank accounts that show that you can cover 12 months expenses on a minimum salary here in Mexico. So with the exchange rate in favor of USD, you can see how easy that is for Americans. Joe, I keep thinking you’re in US, pardon me if you’re in UK or Australia…or anywhere else!
I should get some exact details on this and share!….thanks for reading and asking!
