Linda, i trust your expertise and appreciate the advice and how long you’ve been here. However after reading this claim for months, I tested it over and over and with other writers: this claim is false.

We get paid close to $0.03 (rounding) per minute of read time, the rate increases as the hours increase beyond a certain large amount…however it’s quite consistent. I can read 30 stories a day, or 5 had the writers capture their stats before and after I read: same rate.

I then had them turn the tables around and read mine —closely the same.

Too many writers keep reiterating that the more we read, less gets paid. But it doesn’t follow—I would get too technical with the math, but Medium would need a complicated algorithm for payout for individual writers and that logistically would be insane!

Sorry for the long comment—but for those of you with large readership, I’d kindly ask, please—let’s not further this notion.

From what I’ve researched—it’s not accurate.
