Slaveowners --- felt God made them righteous to own slaves. Slaveowners, used the Bible and God -- to justify racism and slavery.

Perhaps, you read it as me saying:

blacks were enslaved, brutalized, raped, beaten because "they" (referencing slaves) didn't accept or want change: Huge NO -- absolutely correct/and I apologize, that is absolutely not what I meant.

If that's how you read it, yes, I would 100% wrong, insensitive and just plain ignorant.
