It's interesting to read your take - never thought of it that way, but it makes sense.

I have such little patience for people who prey on others to satisfy their needs, I don't stick around long enough to understand them, and I've done the quick "they are selfish" labeling, but you did excellent - pointing to that child who was never taught to take care of themself - and seeks others to solve their problems.
