It’s an uphill exhausting battle….

Just a few minutes ago, the gentleman who came to repair an apparatus. It’s over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, we are having a hot day and many don’t have water in their homes. He brought his little boy, no bigger than 5, as he had no one to babysit his son.

I offered them a cold glass of water. The little boy said no thanks. He’s dying of thirst, the father then tells me: “he just wants coke.”

—after I wrote this. I thought, if I seriously stand by what I write I can’t buy any more coke. Who am I really supporting?

Anyhow, I still have coke in my house and gave to the little boy. I feel enormous guilt, sadness and shame—-how could it be that we as a society have already enabled the addiction to sugar at such a young age, even at a temp and condition where we should easily crave just water?

Ugh. Not good. :-(((
