It is fascinating to read these and then look at the present day and watch and see what has resumed.

My husband used to ALWAYS travel - and it's not pretty much nonexistent. I absolutely love it; and yet we've lost the perks of what mileage would bring. But that's okay - I wish we had this when the kids were smaller.

I haven't done the research - but it would be interesting to see if businesses have decreased business travel. I would hope so? For all the reasons you shared - but now that they've seen that nothing collapsed and so much was accomplished virtually - I wonder if business travel is remarkably lower?

I definitely don't see tourism slowing down -- increasing some efficient and comfortable mass transit within countries would encourage people to visit and support their own countries.

How many within their own countries don't even visit all the wonderful and beautiful places locally?

I get it - I too want to travel abroad.

Unlike others - I haven't travelled for most of the "family/building" stage of my life, so it would be painful if when I finally had the time and resources I would be restricted.

It's hard to limit tourism - how do we generalize what's too much or too little? But yes, anything to limit the destruction on our planet is a must.

Thought-provoking as always -- enjoyed the read Shashi!!!
