I’m of the group: live and let live. If some writers and artists choose to use it, they can have at it. I choose not to and I’m perfectly happy without it for now—I simply choose to develop a muscle I haven’t used and don’t want any assistance. For those who find it’s assistance not only beneficial but rewarding—I wouldn’t get in their way.

But I can clearly tell the difference between the two—and over time, I’m getting quite attuned to spotting the difference. One moves me and one doesn’t. I have no doubt most readers are learning to tell the difference.

But the beauty of the written world and images is that there’s room for everyone. I would hope writers would openly display when their writing was AI assisted just as we have to properly give credit to our images, writing should be properly credited to the tool used. IMHO.
