I’m an extrovert and have always preferred working alone. 😉…

I completely get your point though—and it’s valid. I’m listening and will keep this at heart.

I’ll share why group work is often encouraged in my classroom. People simply don’t know how to interact with each other—we are all so siloed into the groups we put ourselves comfortably in—we forget the areas we do overlap. In my classrooms, I feel the young are so consistently on their devices and to themselves—the few times we do ask them to work for a few minutes together may be a few times some actually interact with others.

That’s what I meant, sorry: interaction.

And I do see your point, when it comes to work—let’s be open to allowing those who do feel more at ease and productive working on their own.

My son is such an introvert, that putting him to work in a group actually translates: he does nothing.

He cannot handle the overpowering extroverts who take charge and just do most of it. So he backs off and does nothing.

So I have first hand seen how group work actually does more damage than help.

Love your solution: coexist and let each do what works best for each. 💜💜💜
