I'm always at a loss when those of you here longer feel there is a "change"...From the first month I was here and did my little read study, I realized I've got to slow down - I do so every time. When I feel I want to support someone, and they just don't have a topic I'm genuinely interested in I will hit the listen button...I want the algorithm to know what I enjoy reading so like you won't clap.
But I 100% know I'm getting claps and no read times...I think that genuinely happens, and people just want to appear as though they support you - but are off!
The level of the comment tells me a lot about how quickly they read --sometimes.
Read ratios will always start high -- as your story makes its way to more "eye balls" it's a natural numbers pattern for your read ratio to drop, don't let that discourage you. The read ratio has to do with the reads/views, so they will see the headline but not want to read. That number should go down, and you'll see how it's always higher the first day when most of your loyal readers will click and read.
I am with you -- we need to remind our community that we notice and it would be appreciated if they just didn't clap or comment if they genuinely didn't read.
Let's just be truthful and allow the times to be close to what they need to be.
