I would hope/imagine those who genuinely don’t enjoy texting, are busy or take a day or two either communicate (as some have done in the comments)—but the fact is, silence and delay do communicate:
You (the sender) are not a priority.
If others are comforted that they can ignore messages or delay them and others should blankly accept, they live or don’t mind the bubble they’ve created. Those people will naturally over time distance. Now if they meet in person regularly and there’s an understanding: maybe the relationship survives.
As you can tell, this is close topic to my heart. :-)….even my sons have received the: do not ignore messages …..
, a simple: I’ll get back to you I’m busy at the time—
