I worded it badly as I was quoting her -- but she essentially said: I'll buy it and let's split the cost 4 ways (as it was four couples...don't really know her, nor the other invitees - nor was I consulted on the what, where, when and why of this invite - so I figured "maybe" she just wanted to have us over to get to know and welcome the "new people?" ...so yeah - I still classify it as "taking the cake!" 😹
