I wondered this too...you are always quite perceptive dear friend!!!

And I truly hope she gave them a talking to, asking them: why didn't they ever take the responsibility of planning - as we waited months for them to get quotes? But here's what I find quite idiotic about the whole "they need to plan it" -- in the end, we the parents have to foot the bill. So riddle me this:

Let's say they plan some event and include xyz ---don't they ultimately still have to come back to the parents to get permission and funds to pay? The whole concept of "the students should be doing this" was so asinine - it irritated me.

The best way would have been to gather a student and parent committee -- together bring the student ideas and the parents in the committee then communicate with all parents what's doable or not -- then students move forward with planning.

That initiative and putting together belonged to the school - and that's where this school failed.

As far as I was concerned, it's a private school and it's exactly what they should have time and ability to do. Public schools in the US with much less funding do this and more --

Okay - sorry, I'm venting. LOL You got an ear full and I should delete the comment...but, gonna hit respond! 🙃 (hopefully you just scanned through nat's ramblings!)

Thank YOU for reading and your supportive reply dear friend!!!! Big hug!
