I will always be astounded how amazing writers like you feel they are still honing their craft here; I feel it's one of the reasons I keep some of you so close in my reading community, because you are so humble and see the value of continuous learning. To be honest, I feel that's a trait for many of us who taught, so I value your perspective and I thank you so much for sharing this.

I love the words "safe environment" -- I didn't think of that, but think there is power and truth to that. I think that's why I wince every time a writer warns readers about adding a comment that's harsh, I find it unsettling that readers can't walk away from something that did not resonate with them or if criticism is warranted, may it be constructive and given in kind -- in a safe way, as you so well put.
