I so agree! I've noticed the same trend, even with my husband who years ago would spend weekends catching up with family and friends. I have one friend who always want a long phone conversation and I have to say sometimes I just want the text. But she loves a good talk! I will say I try to do the facetime catch up at least a few months with my closest - bc as you said, nothing more special than good old back and forth chatting!
